KWARK heated socks designed for drysuit users performing long dives in cold water, as well as for divers wanting to improve comfort on shorter dives
KWARK heated socks are designed for drysuit users performing long dives in cold water, as well as for divers who want to improve comfort on shorter dives or in slightly warmer waters using external batteries with power regulation. This regulation is particularly important for long decompression dives and when there is a significant difference in water temperature between the target and decompression stop depths.
When using heated socks, keep the following points in mind:
- When planning a dive, consider that the use of heating elements affects the saturation of blood with respiratory gases. Therefore, plan your dives conservatively.
- Always plan your dives so that the capacity of the battery used is sufficient to operate your heater for the entire duration of the dive.
These socks, made from the well-proven Navy material, are very warm even without heating. Thanks to their excellent insulation and excellent moisture absorption and transport, they effectively protect divers’ feet from heat loss. Even when turned off and fully submerged, the socks maintain high thermal protection parameters.
Heating is based on a heating element placed on the top of the foot, with a maximum power of 8 to 13.5 W for each sock, depending on size. The power depends on the sock size to ensure a similar heat delivery per cm². The heating panel is mounted close to the inner surface, ensuring that most of the generated heat warms the diver’s feet rather than the water. It warms the foot from below when the diver is suspended in the water.
The socks are protected against short circuits by a fuse. The fuse is easy to replace, located on the power cord in the connector that distributes power to both socks, or in the warmer’s connection box, depending on the power supply version used.
Connecting the socks is very simple. Put them on after putting on the warmer. Wrap the excess cable coming from the opening in the warmer around your calf and connect the plugs. This cable arrangement protects the cable from kinking and minimizes the risk of accidental disconnection. The plug fits tightly to achieve the IP67 seal, so especially when disconnecting, you must hold it firmly with your fingers. DO NOT PULL ON THE CABLES. Pay particular attention to the cables, ensuring they are not kinked anywhere and that you do not tug or force them. Excess cable can be pulled into the warmer, coiled into loops near the box, and secured with a zip tie.
The socks are machine washable after removing the heating panel. They can be spun dry.
The socks come with a bag for transport and a power cable according to the selected version.
The socks are CE certified.
